Jamie Thorne first dealt with the equine species as a 10 year old when she was given her first pony named “Lollie”. Jamie and Lollie competed in pony club for six years and Lollie was quite the little sporting competitor.
Jamie’s family began breeding thoroughbreds on the south coast which is where Jamie’s passion for horses especially thoroughbreds and the drive to become a vet nurse came from.
Jamie has been a qualified equine vet nurse for 11 years working as the senior vet nurse for 4.5 years at Woodlands Stud (now Darley Denman). During this time Jamie was awarded the Equine Nurses Scholarship from Scone Veterinary Hospital and worked at Hagyards Equine Medical institute in Lexington, Kentucky USA for 6 months in 2006.
